Peter R. Olson, Attorney at Law founded his Chicago-based law practice in 2005 following three years of working at two small suburban Chicago law firms. He advocates on behalf of individuals, families, and children during adoption, dissolution of marriage, and parentage cases often involving child custody, intricate property issues, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. He also represents condominium associations and works as an arbitrator within Cook County’s Mandatory Arbitration Program. Peter is an Allied Attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund where he provides pro bono representation on behalf of persecuted Christians. He’s a graduate of both Winona State University (MN) and the Southern Illinois University School of Law. He edits a law practice management blog at:  SoloinChicago.com.  

Prior to his law school attendance, Peter covered Capitol Hill as a journalist and was also a high school social studies teacher in the Peoria, IL area. In his free time, Peter’s an avid golfer, tri-athlete, and amateur historian. He's a member of Harvest Bible Chapel - Niles, serves on the board of directors of the Barnabas Project, and is active in Rotary International - Des Plaines chapter. Peter was born in Oak Park, IL, raised in Glenview, IL, and currently lives in Chicago's northwest suburbs. 

Representative Matters:

• Reduced father’s child support obligation by $100,000 due to former wife’s failure to properly serve him in the original dissolution of marriage case.
  
  
• Stopped custodial parent mother from “removing” parties two young children to California and away from father based on mother’s new job offer and income of her new spouse.
  
  
• Recouped $23,000 for custodial mother from father’s pension to pay back-child support.
  
  
• Successfully petitioned court to require mother to immediately return child to Illinois from Texas when she illegally fled the state without court permission.
